Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join our specialist neuro‑rehabilitation service on a part‑time basis.

We provide specialist level 2A neurological rehabilitation, treatment, slow‑stream rehabilitation, residential and respite care, as well as neuro‑behavioural services for up to 26 adults.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the multidisciplinary team that undertakes assessments for admissions to the service within our partner acute hospitals
  • Provide input for spasticity and bowel / bladder management
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in the care and treatment of patients, including weekly ward round review
  • Attend family meetings, case review meetings and discharge planning meetings as required
  • Practice evidence‑based care through national standards and guidelines
  • Provide supervision to the allocated junior doctor
  • Prepare for and participate in external reviews (CQC, Quality Network reviews); liaise with NHS England and participate in the Pan‑London Specialist Rehabilitation Collaborative

Qualifications

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • CCT in Rehabilitation Medicine (or within 6 months of obtaining)
  • Experience in neuro‑rehabilitation and complex neurological disability
  • Strong multidisciplinary teamwork skills
  • Experience in clinical governance and quality improvement
