We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
- Support individual and small groups of students to access learning, following teacher planning and guidance.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent, trauma-informed and autism-aware strategies.
- Build strong, respectful relationships that support students’ confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
- Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning strategies.
- Support personal care needs where required, with dignity and respect.
Pay
- NJC 8-13: £23,592.34 – £25,562.47
- FTE: £26,824.00 – £29,064.00
- 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
- Permanent
Qualifications and Skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above.
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
- A commitment to supporting children and young people with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of teaching staff.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, patient, and flexible approach.
