The Old Vic is looking for an Operations & Technical Assistant to provide high-quality administrative support across its Theatre Operations and Technical teams.
This role will support a wide range of work across health and safety, building and space management, finance administration, IT support coordination, systems administration and general office support. It is a varied position suited to someone highly organiser, detail-focused and interested in developing a career in arts management or technical administration.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Administration Manager and Technical Services Director, as well as teams across The Old Vic.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting finance administration, including purchase orders, supplier onboarding, invoice processing, credit card administration and budget tracking.
- Assisting with health, safety and security administration, including compliance records, training coordination, emergency equipment checks, access passes, key logs and fire evacuation systems.
- Supporting IT and telecoms administration, including liaising with external providers, helping with equipment for new starters and leavers, and supporting day‑to‑day IT systems.
- Managing building and space administration, including keeping the building diary up to date, supporting scheduling meetings, preparing operational updates and helping coordinate room and stage bookings.
- Providing office and departmental administration, including meeting coordination, minute taking, training bookings, rotas, timesheets, casual staff database updates, couriers, mail, stationery and travel account administration.
- Managing enquiries and providing occasional emergency cover at Stage Door.
