Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy updates, applications and solutions into live environments, acting as a technical expert for 3rd line issues.
  • Shape and support a secure, reliable, and modern end‑user experience using Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID, Defender for Endpoint and Windows 11.
  • Collaborate with teams across Digital, contributing to the introduction of new technologies and driving the future direction of desktop services.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Documented design experience producing and updating high‑level and low‑level designs, installation and operational documentation for enterprise infrastructure or desktop services.
  • Experience managing pre‑prod, dev and test environments.
  • Hands‑on engineering or operational experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint in a large enterprise environment (10,000+ users).
  • Practical experience supporting or engineering core cloud and identity services including Azure, Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access and on‑prem Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GPO).
  • Experience delivering and supporting technical change in a live service environment with impact assessment, implementation and post‑change validation, alongside incident and problem management.
  • Enterprise service delivery experience working in a large, multi‑supplier or multi‑team environment, understanding dependencies, governance and shared accountability.
  • Experience with software deployment, desktop management and troubleshooting in an enterprise setting.

You’ll play a key role in deploying updates and managing live services, collaborating across teams and contributing to technology implementation and continuous improvement.

Location, Hybrid Working and Benefits

  • Location: Manchester or Blackpool.
  • Hybrid Working: Hybrid model with time at home and at a digital hub.
  • Pay: Up to £52,442.
  • Pension: Civil service pension with 28.97% employer contributions, worth over £12,000 per year.
  • Holidays: 26 days to start, rising to 31 days over time, plus public holidays and up to 3 flexi‑time days off per month.
