Apply for the Senior Frontend Engineer
Location: Cambridge
Job Description:

About the role

As a core member of our product development team, you’ll work hand‑in‑hand with UX designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to develop production‑ready web applications, including sophisticated data visualisation. As a skilled React developer with a proven record of delivering robust and secure front ends, you will be part of a cross‑functional, agile team shaping the future of our flagship user interfaces.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Deliver web applications that are secure, scalable, fault‑tolerant, performant, intuitive and visually engaging.
  • Transform complex datasets into compelling visual stories, embodying the cutting‑edge nature of our solutions.
  • Apply automated tests, both unit and end‑to‑end, to ensure a foundation of reliability and code integrity.
  • Take ownership from conceptual design through deployment and beyond, demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning and pragmatic solutions.
  • Advocate for frontend standards and technologies based on proved solutions, sharing knowledge and improving how we build and maintain systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners to champion a product‑minded approach that aligns with customer needs.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Experience with the React framework and proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub.
  • Ability to translate Figma‑based design prototypes, with openness to close, iterative collaboration with designers.
  • Experience with CSS‑in‑JS libraries such as Styled Components.
  • Advocacy and implementation of industry best practices in frontend engineering, including automated testing with frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.

What will help you thrive in the Frontend Team

Our product is technically demanding – built for domain experts who rely on it to do serious work. The frontend reflects that: a mature codebase, established patterns, and engineers who care about craft. You will thrive here if you take ownership of your work end‑to‑end, find your own path to getting things done, and bring genuine curiosity to the problems in front of you. We value people who understand why conventions exist before proposing change.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary – reviewed annually
  • 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays
  • TGIF: The last Friday of every month is a half day for employees
  • Enhanced family leave policies
  • Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme
  • Life Assurance of 4x salary
