Test Engineer, Data

Overview

• Help ensure the quality and reliability of the DataCosmos platform, testing frontend interfaces and APIs through to data flows and platform behaviour.
• Define and implement testing strategies across platform features and releases.
• Design, build, and maintain automated tests for frontend and backend systems.
• Carry out manual and exploratory testing across user journeys and edge cases.
• Validate data flows, outputs, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define acceptance criteria and test coverage.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and improve automated testing within release cycles.
• Identify gaps in coverage and drive improvements in testing practices and frameworks.
• Investigate defects across UI, API, and data layers.
• Review user and admin documentation to ensure clarity and alignment with system behaviour.

Requirements

• Ability to design reliable and repeatable tests using manual and automated approaches
• Understanding of different testing strategies including integration, regression, system, and exploratory testing
• Ability to build automated tests for web UIs and APIs using modern testing frameworks
• Understanding of API-driven systems and client-server architectures
• Ability to validate data integrity, transformations, and outputs within data platforms
• Awareness of CI/CD practices and testing within release pipelines
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail when identifying defects and inconsistencies
• Understanding of user workflows and the ability to test from different user perspectives
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach, balancing speed and quality in a scaling environment
