Base location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital with cross‑cover at Poole Hospital
This key leadership role supports and shapes the delivery of high‑quality, safe and effective imaging services. You will provide visible clinical leadership, supporting operational delivery while maintaining a strong focus on patient experience, quality improvement and staff wellbeing.
In addition to day shifts, the role will require on‑call cover for evenings and weekends.
Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical and operational leadership within your designated imaging area
- Support the delivery of safe, effective and patient‑centred care in line with Trust values
- Lead, support and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to service delivery, performance management and patient flow
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and transformation within Radiology
- Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R, health and safety standards and governance requirements
- Support staff through supervision, appraisal and professional development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to improve patient pathways
You will be an approachable and visible leader, promoting a culture where staff feel supported, valued and empowered.
Qualifications
- Registered nurse, educated to diploma or degree level
- Teaching and assessing course/mentorship in practice or NMC supervising learners in practice approved
- Evidence of a post‑registration qualification or approved training course in leadership and management
Experience
- Experience in interventional radiology or a similar interventional speciality
- Recruitment and selection course
- IV Therapy Skills & Competency
Knowledge
- Awareness of patient experience, quality and safety agendas that support governance frameworks
- Implementation of service development and changes
- Involvement in policy and SOP development

- Works well within a team and across all disciplines
