Job Description
We are seeking personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Cost Managers/Cost Consultants to join our UK Infrastructure team, supporting our growth and making a difference to UK infrastructure.
Job Objectives
- Establish friendly, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
- Administer a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
- Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting through completion, in line with budget.
- Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely applications.
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage delivery of deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
- Manage contract change effectively, ensuring projects remain within governance and best practice.
- Drive improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
- Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
- Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Lead people and commissions as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong contract management knowledge (NEC3, Option C preferred).
- Proficiency in cost management, change management and control, valuation, risk management, procurement, estimating, pricing, and reporting.
- Collaborative approach with a best‑for‑project attitude and sharing of best practice.
- People management and commission management experience.
- Ability to identify and drive efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
Additional Qualifications
- Ideally a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
