Field Breakdown Engineer – CNC

£18.83 – £23.93/hr (c.£36–46k pa) plus Car/Van

South East – Great Yarmouth/Southend/Ipswich area

The Company

Our client, Yamazaki Mazak, is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market‑leading machine tool manufacturer at the forefront of the industry.

This UK‑based role involves supporting customers with Mazak machines. Duties include installation, programming, and breakdown support across a range of machines, including milling, turning centres, and 5-axis machines.

Reporting to the Service Co‑ordinator, the role is ideally suited to an engineer based in the South East. Regular travel is required, including working away across the UK and Ireland.

Essential Criteria

• Basic programme experience (Mazak / Siemens / Heidenhain)
• Understanding of machine tool levelling, alignment, and geometry
• Knowledge of different control systems
• Experience with Mazatrol controls and Mazak machines
• Professional, customer‑focused approach
• Flexible, with willingness to work overtime and weekends
• Clean driving licence
• Strong problem‑solving ability
• Transferable skills across multiple machine models

Desirable Criteria

• 5-axis knowledge
• Experience of report writing
