Candidate Profile
As an Assistant Reservations Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Reservations to oversee daily operations, optimise inventory and revenue opportunities, and ensure coordination with key departments to support a smooth and personalised guest journey. You will encourage employees to be creative and innovative, challenge and recognise them for their contribution to the success of the operation. You will develop the team’s skills and abilities through training and development and lead their annual appraisals. The role requires efficient liaison and communication with the respective hotel departments to deliver a seamless experience for all guests, working closely with the Reservations, Sales, and Events teams.
Key Requirements
- Work closely with the Head of Reservations to coordinate with the Sales team, Events team and Head of Revenue to ensure all Groups & Individual bookings are completed correctly.
- To liaise and communicate efficiently with the respective hotel departments to ensure a seamless experience for all our guests and work with the Front Office, Sales and Events teams.
- Supervise reservations agents to ensure daily tasks/weekly tasks are completed consistently with the highest attention to detail for all teams to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Proactively create and update training materials and supporting documents to keep them up to date and available for the Reservations Agents.
- Be aware of future business on the books and take action as directed to fill low-demand periods; highlight peak dates due to groups or other significant pickups to Head of Revenue and Head of Reservations.
- Ensure any discrepancy or possible mishandling of hotel or guest financial information is reported to hotel management promptly.
- Assist the Finance team and Head of Reservations with processing commissions for room reservations.
- Previous experience within Front Office in a 4* or 5* establishment is essential and experience in the luxury London market preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language; a second language preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role.
- Ability to work on own initiative is essential.
- Knowledge of Opera system preferred.
