Overview
Full/part-time Class C LGV Driver – Warwickshire County Council is seeking LGV Cat C licence holders to support recycling across Warwickshire’s nine facilities. Training will be provided for hook lift operation. We are flexible and seeking full-time LGV Cat C licensed drivers. This is a seven-day-a-week service; one full weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday) is required.
Overtime may be available – hours above 37 per week and Sundays are paid at time and a half. Bank holidays are paid at double time.
The Role
As a Hook Lift Driver you will keep our household waste recycling centres and transfer stations running efficiently and safely on behalf of Warwickshire County Council. You will transport roll on roll off skips to maintain capacity in this important public service. If you do not have experience with a hook lift, we will train you. Drivers work on their own initiative to ensure the waste management service runs efficiently and that materials are directed to appropriate recycling and disposal streams.

Recycling Centres are open every day to support weekend and bank holiday recycling. We invite people who can work one full weekend a month to apply. The job also involves driving on landfill.
Key Requirements
To be successful you will be a team player with a positive outlook and be able to use your own initiative. You will have good communication skills and be able to relay information accurately and in a timely manner. You will have strong driving skills and remain calm in challenging situations. You will have at least basic reading and writing and be numerate to complete load and transfer documentation (basic training will be provided where appropriate). As a primary frontline service for the Authority, you will keep a smart appearance and maintain a professional manner.
