Responsibilities

• Sorting, loading and unloading waste skips; operating delivery vehicles for tipping, removal and loading conveyor belts for waste sorting.
• General yard tidying and skip moving.
• Loading screeners and crushers.
• General maintenance of static plant (basic checks, greasing, air filters, radiators and health and safety checks).
• Ad‑hoc duties requested by the Manager, including general yard maintenance and vehicle washing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Suitably certified for specific machinery.
• Effective and confident communication skills.
• Experience within the waste and recycling sector is desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and Short procedure standards.
• Safe working attitude – wearing PPE at all times.
• Ability to operate compliantly in a challenging environment.
• Self‑motivated and flexible.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Approachable and professional.
• Logical reasoning within tight and conflicting timeframes.
• Willingness to learn and take on new duties.
• Demonstrate understanding and work to exceed expectations.
