Help shape the future of specialty insurance. At Artificial, we’re building the next generation of technology for the specialty (re)insurance market. Our mission is to transform how brokers and carriers operate in complex markets by removing operational barriers and enabling smarter, faster decision‑making.
Our Values
- Build high‑quality, robust features and supporting infrastructure that sets the standard for the rest of the engineering team
- Asking good questions, sharing knowledge, mentoring and developing others in the team
- To continuously improve operations (think: Kaizen, Toyota Way)
- To spread skills across the team, discouraging knowledge silos
- To have the confidence needed to be ambitious and do what others can’t
About the Role
- Support system reliability and operability, contributing to monitoring, observability, and infrastructure improvements.
- Work with containerised and cloud‑based systems, including Docker, Nix, and AWS (e.g. ECS and Fargate).
- Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code in Terraform, and contribute to code across all the software stack: Nix, scripting (Nu, bash, hell), Haskell, and even a bit of Python and TypeScript.
- Participate in incident response and help improve on‑call, alerting, and incident management practices.
- Communicate effectively in a distributed team, taking ownership and supporting collaboration and continuous improvement.

- You’re comfortable with Git, Linux, the command line, and modern software development workflows.
- You’re interested in operating and scaling distributed systems.

- background in infrastructure, operations, or SRE‑adjacent roles, with a strong focus on system reliability.
- You are proactive, curious, accountable, and comfortable working autonomously in a scale‑up environment.
We especially want to hear from you if you have
