Senior Care Assistant – Days – At The Grange Care Centre

Part‑Time Hours Available

Job Role

To support the Manager in the overall management of the home and assume the Manager’s responsibilities in their absence. Create an environment that respects the rights and wishes of residents, encourages person‑centred care and maximises independence.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and provide the requirements for normal health and assess effects on the client and family when continued care is needed.
  • Assist the client in any area of their daily care needs that they would normally undertake themselves if able.
  • Participate in holistic caring activities.
  • Provide care to all clients’ needs to optimise their independence.
  • Promote residents’ participation in planning and reviewing of care.
  • Take responsibility for the care‑planning process, maintain appropriate medication and care delivery for a designated group of service users.
  • Respect the right of the individual to confidentiality.
  • Carry out moving and handling, dressing and assistance with daily hygiene and dressing needs.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ condition.
  • Report to Manager any hazard or unsafe equipment that may threaten health and safety of staff, residents, or visitors.
  • Attend in‑service training and mandatory training required by law.
  • Ensure service is delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and practices.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 / MA L3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
  • Previous experience as a senior in a residential care or nursing home.
  • Passion for care of the elderly.
  • Experience of medication administration.
