Overview
The NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHLG) is appointing Consultant Urologists to deliver core and endourology services, including management of urological pelvic and bladder cancers.
Responsibilities
- Provide elective and emergency urology care at the New Royal Liverpool Hospital, including core, endourology and pelvic cancer services.
- Perform robotic, laparoscopic and open urological procedures, including nephro‑sparing and nephroureterectomy, RFA, cryoablation and RPLND.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of medical, dental and allied health trainees.
- Attend monthly audit meetings and weekly Grand Rounds; present an academic paper at least yearly.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings for prostate, bladder, kidney and testis cancer at the Urology Cancer Centre.
- Collaborate on audit, research and quality improvement projects within the Trust.
Qualifications
- GMC Specialist Register via CCT, CESR or European Community Rights; proposed CCT/CESR within 6 months of interview.
- FRCS (Urol) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in urological surgical practice with proven clinical leadership.
Training & Development
- The Trust provides CPD support, mentoring and time for professional development activities.
- Annual appraisal and revalidation are conducted in line with GMC and surgical college requirements.
