Clinical Nurse Specialist-Haemodialysis | East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust

We are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist-Haemodialysis who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Recognised expert in the specialty, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and undertaking specialist nursing procedures.
• Provide specialist advice and support to, and liaise with, other staff; deliver specialist education and training for staff and students implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care, incorporating new treatments and evidence‑based care.
• Undertake research and lead clinical audits in the specialist area.
• Work Twilight shifts to cover patients and weekends if clinically indicated.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care as an autonomous practitioner with specialist skills.
• Where qualified as a Nurse Independent Prescriber, prescribe any drugs within clinical competencies.
• Provide care through screening programmes, nurse‑led clinics, accepting referrals, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, conducting physical assessments and obtaining written consent to treatment.
• Refer patients directly to specialists in other professions.
• Provide expert specialist clinical advice for patients, carers and health care professionals.
• Carry a caseload and manage complex cases.
• Improve and maintain standards of care within the specialty.
