We are excited to offer two fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic and committed Placement Support Workers to join our Kinship Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. These roles are central to strengthening kinship placements, supporting carers, and helping children achieve stability, belonging, and positive outcomes.
About the role
As a Placement Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting kinship carers and the children in their care. You’ll work closely alongside social workers and partner agencies to ensure placements are well-supported and resilient.
This is a dynamic, varied, and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll be:
- Providing practical and emotional support to kinship carers
- Supporting children’s day-to-day experiences and wellbeing
- Helping to maintain placement stability and prevent breakdown
- Working creatively with families to overcome challenges
- Contributing to assessments, care planning, and reviews
- Building strong relationships with professionals and services across the county (and occasionally beyond)

Experience of working with children, families, or within social care is highly desirable, and a strong commitment to kinship care values and principles is essential.
