Overview
Purpose of the role: Manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; own related customer and colleague journeys; develop the product strategy; drive change through execution teams; make key decisions in the product lifecycle; own outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, with appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Develop customer level strategies and solutions tailored to customers’ needs.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and guide stakeholders at all levels on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related journeys.
- Define and prioritize product propositions or service strategy; lead the delivery of priorities to achieve the strategy.
- Develop different commercial and business models with a strong understanding of the financial drivers of the P&L for the relevant segment, proposition or journey.
- Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance and potential risks for developing and launching new products.
- Monitor market trends and gather feedback from internal teams and target customers through prototypes, user testing and beta programs to refine the product/process before launch.
- Manage launch plans and technical deployments for products, establishing rollout timelines, marketing strategies, training initiatives and communication channels to promote launches.
- Monitor key metrics (adoption, usage, customer satisfaction including complaints, and revenue) to assess performance against goals.

Role Focus
Senior Product & Proposition Manager focused on shaping and strengthening Current Account Switch (CAS) and domestic payments propositions. Ensure regulatory compliance, robust customer outcomes and resilient end-to-end journeys across faster payments and CAS products. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product, risk and customer experience, partnering with industry bodies and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement. For the right candidate, this role offers the potential to own a strategically important product area, lead a small team, and influence how millions of customers experience switching and payments.
Requirements / Skills
- Experience with regulatory compliance and customer outcomes: products and propositions meet regulatory expectations while delivering strong, fair customer outcomes.
- Risk and resilience in payments: identify risks, assess control effectiveness, and support incident management and recovery in CAS and domestic payments.
- End-to-end product and proposition management: manage product journeys across onboarding, current accounts and CAS with focus on customer experience, governance and continuous improvement.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset: strong analytical skills to analyze data, processes and incidents with meticulous attention to detail.
- Stakeholder and industry engagement: proven stakeholder management with internal teams and external partners at scheme level (e.g., Pay.UK).
- Product and proposition integration: experience integrating design into the CAS journey and onboarding processes, with demonstrated interest in CAS products and ownership of complex deliverables.
