Overview

Lead all commissioning activity prior to opening including recruitment, onboarding and mobilisation. Build and develop a high-performing team while minimising agency usage from day one. This role is for a Commissioning Home Manager to lead the opening of Hollybank Care Home, a brand-new luxury care home located in Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex. Hollybank Care Home is a purpose-built premium 66-bed service due to open in January 2027, offering all-inclusive residential, dementia, nursing and respite care within a hospitality-led environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commissioning process from recruitment strategy and mobilisation through occupancy growth, regulatory readiness and establishing a strong local reputation.
  • Lead the development of a high-performing team and embed company culture and values from day one.
  • Drive occupancy from zero to first residents, build referral networks, and ensure the home is prepared for its first CQC inspection cycle.
  • Minimise agency usage from day one and ensure staffing levels meet operational requirements.
  • Take full site ownership throughout the commissioning phase and into launch and long-term operational success.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record leading the opening or commissioning of a new care home or similar healthcare/hospitality project.
  • Strong leadership, operational management, recruitment, and commissioning experience.
  • Ability to build a high-performing team, establish a positive culture, and drive occupancy growth.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and readiness for CQC inspections.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary up to 85,000 per annum.
  • Up to 40% annual bonus linked to KPI achievement.
