The Position
Within the Near Patient Care R&D Development Network, our team of system architects supports the development of diagnostic and medical devices. We ensure that the system of hardware, software, and sensors works together seamlessly to form a robust solution. We are looking for a technically focused team player who can think holistically, understand complex systems, and act proactively to bring experts together to develop state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic and disease‑management solutions.
Responsibilities
- You will hold technical responsibility in key systems engineering disciplines for the development of systems or complex system components
- You will be accountable for systems engineering deliverables, such as requirements, architecture, risks, concepts, and configuration management
- You will contribute to product development projects, including system integration
- You will create development documentation and design artifacts according to good design practices and regulatory‑relevant requirements
- You will drive the alignment between instrument and assay development and their integration
- You will work closely with other functions such as HW and SW Engineering, Operations, or Customer Support in cross‑functional activities
Qualifications
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BSc/MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or an equivalent qualification
- You have experience in medical device development (a focus on hardware is a plus) and have ideally worked in a regulated environment (e.g., IVDR)
- With your clear, structured, and proactive working style, you promote collaboration in interdisciplinary teams
- You think analytically and are capable of seeing the big picture as well as the details
- You have practical experience in system integration, working with various technology domains
- You navigate confidently within complex systems and distributed organizations, proactively identifying system‑level issues and driving them to resolution
- You are fluent in English, with additional knowledge of German considered a plus
