Our 4 on 4 off shift (2 days and 2 nights) provides work‑life balance, alongside our Christmas production shutdown, and 22 days’ holiday.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑use lifting and equipment guarding checks to ensure absolute safety before machine operation.
- Operate high speed/high volume converting machinery, performing quality checks and making electronic or manual adjustments as required.
- Rectify any defects or minor issues within the permitted scope before escalating to a Shift Engineer or Cell Leader/Shift Manager.
- Collate waste paper product into balers for delivery to the Mills for recycling.
- Seek out opportunities for cost reductions and added value as part of Continuous Improvement.
- Use a common area during breaks to eat and rest before returning to work.
Essential Skills
Technical and proactive approach: set machines safely and correctly, carry out basic fault finding and minor PPMs to reduce downtime and sustain machine reliability.
Experience in a converting or similar FMCG environment.
