Job Description:

Salary: £32,000 – 40,000 per year

Requirements:

  • We require a Bachelors degree in Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • We require an understanding of programming and software development principles.
  • We require familiarity with Git or other version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
  • We require strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • We require good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a technical team.
  • We value programming experience in Python, C++, or C#.
  • We value familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
  • We value knowledge of communication protocols including RS232, RS485, CAN, or I2C.

Responsibilities:

  • We integrate autonomy software onto simulation environments and real‑world platforms.
  • We support system testing, verification, and validation prior to deployment.
  • We assist with Factory Acceptance Testing, Harbour Acceptance Testing, and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/HAT/SAT).
  • We configure and adapt software systems for different vessels and operating environments.
  • We identify, document, and troubleshoot system or software performance issues.
  • We support remote deployments and occasional on‑site client support.
  • We maintain configuration management records and track system changes.
  • We contribute to technical documentation including user guides, reports, and release notes.

We are a growing engineering team developing autonomous control systems for marine platforms, and this role offers the opportunity to work on real‑world robotics and autonomy technologies. As a Platform Integration Engineer, we work closely with engineers, scientists, and developers to ensure our systems operate reliably from development through to deployment and sea trials. This is a hands‑on role with exposure to simulation, integration, testing, and deployment across operational environments, including remote work and occasional on‑site client support.
