Location: Hemel Hempstead

Role Overview

The successful candidate will carry out plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation works in tenants’ homes and void properties within a social housing environment, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, within deadlines, and in line with health and safety regulations, delivering excellent customer service throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of domestic plumbing maintenance, including fault finding, diagnosing, and repairing leaks and blockages.
  • Replacing taps, ball valves, pipework, traps, cisterns, and radiators.
  • Installing or repairing sinks, baths, showers, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Support planned maintenance programmes, such as kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
  • Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance in occupied and vacant domestic properties.
  • Carry out first and second fix plumbing on planned refurbishments.
  • Conduct basic fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with water regulations and relevant standards.
  • Accurately complete job tickets, time sheets, and compliance paperwork.
  • Operate handheld devices for receiving and updating job information.
  • Maintain van stock levels and keep tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Deliver high levels of customer care and professionalism in tenants’ homes.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns, property condition issues, or follow-on works as required.
  • Comply with all health and safety legislation and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in domestic plumbing work.
  • Understanding of health and safety in occupied homes.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily workload.
