Roles & Responsibilities
You will guide young people through the dynamic world of business, with a core focus on preparing students for success in their GCSE, A-Level, or BTEC examinations. In this role, you will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the Business curriculum, covering key areas such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Enterprise.
- Develop targeted learning resources adapted to individual student paces, from high-achievers aiming for top grades to students requiring extra patience and SEN/SEMH support.
- Break down complex business models, financial calculations (like break-even and cash flow), and economic impacts into clear, real-world examples.
- Provide constructive assignment feedback, track student progress, and lead rigorous exam preparation and coursework guidance workshops.
- Collaborate with school business and humanities departments to foster a confident, entrepreneurial, and inclusive learning environment.
What you’ll need:
- A relevant degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a recognized UK teaching qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of current GCSE, A-Level, or BTEC Business specifications and a passion for real-world industry trends.
- The unique ability to translate business theories into practical, relatable concepts that build student confidence.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo one).
- Proven classroom teaching or high-level tutoring experience within the UK secondary/sixth-form system (SEN/SEMH experience is a distinct advantage).
- Based in or able to commute to schools across Buckinghamshire (e.g., Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Amersham, Chesham).
