What you’ll do
You’ll play a critical role in keeping Vodafone compliant with UK government legislation, working at the heart of some of our most secure and mission‑critical technology. This hands‑on technical role has real impact and helps protect the integrity of Vodafone’s UK network while enabling lawful access obligations to be met safely and reliably.

- Act as a trusted technical authority, shaping integration design, configuration and validation.
- Work closely with architecture and design leads to ensure all integrations align with security, operational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate day‑to‑day with Ericsson and other trusted third‑party vendors, helping to align systems, interfaces, data flows and operational behaviours.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, leading investigations across network, platform and integration domains and driving issues through to resolution.
- Support planned changes, upgrades and enhancements, ensuring stability, auditability and security before, during and after change windows.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing your knowledge through hands‑on guidance, documentation and learning pathways.
- Operate with the highest levels of professionalism, discretion and integrity when handling sensitive systems and information in a regulated, security‑sensitive environment.
Who you are
- Significant hands‑on experience in UNIX/Linux systems and platform integration.
- Good working knowledge of mobile network technology and architecture (2G, 4G, 5G, VoNR etc.) and associated system security principles.
- Complex systems integration across network and IT estates.
- Strong experience integrating systems across multiple technical domains, with a solid understanding of interfaces, data flows, protocols and dependencies.
- Background working in large‑scale telecommunications or similarly complex, networked environments; experience with Ericsson technologies is a plus.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in live environments involving multiple systems and vendors.
- Confidence working with senior engineers, vendors and stakeholders, providing technical leadership without formal line management responsibility.
- A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of sharing knowledge, mentoring others and helping teams grow sustainably.
- Eligibility for, or existing, SC security clearance, with the judgement and professionalism required for sensitive operational roles.
