Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented people to help.

Responsibilities

As AWS expands its Global Data Center footprint, you will drive remediation of issues found during our audit program. You’ll work with multifunctional regional teams, guiding them to mitigate and remediate risks from both Amazon-owned Data Centers and Colocation Data Center providers. The role requires expertise in Data Center Infrastructure and operations, Program Management, and the ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources to form and present coherent strategies for our Global portfolio. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with experience reporting progress at an SVP level. Tolerance of ambiguity and the ability to deliver results under tight timelines are essential.

An ideal candidate will have experience in program management within complex, cross-functional programs. An Engineering or other relevant Bachelors degree is required, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence multiple stakeholders and technical subject matter experts. A track record of delivering programs while effectively managing large capital budgets is essential.

You will work comfortably with stakeholders from multiple teams, align priorities, and ensure all stakeholders work toward and deliver key milestones necessary for delivering data center infrastructure remediation for our customers at the right time and cost. Technical competency, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (i.e., network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
  • Experience in technical program management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data center, networking engineering, systems engineering or construction management with a good understanding of data center technologies such as power, cooling, and controls systems
  • Experience in data center engineering or operations, or experience in construction or project management
  • Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects
  • Experience in engineering, designing, or constructing data centers
