Job Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical psychology services to adults with cancer referred to the oncology service at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
- Work clinically within the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
- Hold a specialist caseload of patients, undertaking complex level 3 and 4 clinical assessments and interventions.
- Improve the psychological health and wellbeing of patients under the care of the oncology team.
- Work alongside the Clinical Lead to ensure delivery of high-quality psychological support.
- Receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance with Trust policy and the British Psychological Society guidelines.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to both inpatient and outpatient adults with cancer, in line with NICE guidelines.
- Develop specialist psychological assessments and formulations with patients and implement specialist psychological interventions.
- Communicate in a highly skilled and sensitive manner with clients who may exhibit high levels of distress.
- Provide advice, guidance and consultation on psychological aspects of patient care to colleagues, other service providers, patients, supporters and families.
- Communicate with a wide range of health and social care staff, delivering complex and sensitive information concerning assessment, formulation and treatment plans.
- Provide support and guidance in the application of psychological principles and techniques, fostering reflective practice.
