Freelance Contract Manager / Contract Administrator – Major HS2 Infrastructure Project

Location: Old Oak Common Station, LondonRate: £550-£600 per day (Ltd Company)Duration: Long-term Contract

We are recruiting an experienced Contract Manager / Contract Administrator to join a leading specialist contractor delivering the 350 million cladding and structural steel package on the landmark HS2 Old Oak Common Station project. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes.

The Role

Working closely with the commercial and project leadership teams, you will manage the contractual aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and supporting the successful commercial delivery of the works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer NEC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contractual notices, communications and compliance.
  • Support the management of compensation events, early warnings and change control.
  • Prepare and review contractual correspondence.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation.
  • Provide contractual advice to project and commercial teams.
  • Liaise with the client, consultants and subcontractors on contractual matters.
  • Support dispute avoidance through proactive contract management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager, Contract Administrator, Commercial Manager or similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
  • Previous experience on major construction, infrastructure, rail or engineering projects.
  • Excellent contract administration and commercial management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to work independently within a fast‑paced project environment.
