Software Engineer

Salary: £40,000 – 40,000 per year

Requirements

• We need at least 2 years of commercial software development experience.
• We need strong Python programming skills.
• We need practical experience using OpenCV or similar computer vision libraries.
• We need experience with image processing and automated visual inspection systems.
• We need knowledge of USB, Serial, HID, or TCP/IP communications.
• We need experience working with databases such as SQL or similar.
• We need familiarity with Git version control.
• We need strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to development.
• Experience with C, C++, or C# is desirable.
• Knowledge of industrial cameras, machine vision systems, or scanners is desirable.
• Experience developing software for manufacturing or test environments is desirable.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and software validation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• We develop Python-based applications for testing, calibration, and production support.
• We design and implement computer vision solutions using OpenCV for automated inspection and verification.
• We interface with hardware devices using USB, Serial, HID, and TCP/IP communications.
• We create user-friendly GUI applications for engineering and production teams.
• We maintain systems for recording calibration, test, and traceability data.
• We automate testing and calibration processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• We work with databases to manage product and manufacturing data.
• We maintain high-quality, version-controlled software using Git.
• We collaborate with R&D, Production, and Engineering teams to develop effective technical solutions.
