Job Description:

  • Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Rotating shifts
  • Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access
  • Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts, Monday to Friday pattern, 8-hour pattern offering weekend overtime.
  • Pay Range: £46,000 plus Package Plus 5% Bonus OTE £50K+
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Industry: Consumer FMCG Manufacturer, family-owned company

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing effective and efficient planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
  • Ensuring the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault‑finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
  • Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
  • Work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
  • Lead mechanical repair and work with a CMMS
  • Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes
  • Implement minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
  • Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
  • Manufacturing industry experience – heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
  • Understanding of a PPM schedule and routine preventive maintenance
  • Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
  • Proactive approach to fault finding and commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
