Location: The Weymouth Care Home, 21-23 Glendinning Avenue
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and approachable Maintenance Operative to join our team within a care home environment, supporting older and more vulnerable people.
Working pattern: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, on-call requirements).
About The Role
You will play an important part in ensuring our care home remains a safe, comfortable and well maintained environment for residents, visitors and colleagues. This is a busy and varied role in a highly regulated environment, where a ‘can do’ attitude, ability to prioritise and willingness to take direction are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs and decorating to a high standard.
- Support fire safety systems, water hygiene checks and PAT testing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, COSHH and company policies.
- Maintain clear and accurate maintenance records.
- Liaise with contractors and support improvement projects.
- Assist with grounds maintenance and seasonal safety tasks.
- Provide occasional support to a nearby sister care home.
Qualifications
- At least 12 months maintenance experience.
- A can‑do attitude, caring and reliable nature.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Legally allowed to work in the UK.
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.

- Has an understanding of health and safety regulations (advantageous).
- Is willing to complete required training and refresher training.
- Shows compassion, patience and respect when working around older and more vulnerable people.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (desirable).
