About the role
St Michael’s CE Middle School is looking for a Lifeguard & PE Support Assistant to join our team.
Salary: £6,042 – £6,336 per annum (Grade 6 pay award pending).
Part Time – Term Time only: 10 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, temporary until 31/05/2027 to cover maternity leave.
Approximate start date 1st September 2026.
Working days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (shift pattern to be discussed at interview).
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of students during swimming lessons.
- Provide hands‑on support to PE teachers during PE activities.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all school activities.
Requirements
- Reliable, proactive and energetic.
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check in line with government safer recruitment guidelines.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work part‑time during term time, 10 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
