Job Description:

Our established Childcare Team provides a full range of specialist services including:

  • Care proceedings, supervision orders and other public law children matters
  • Special Guardianship Orders
  • Private law children orders including Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders.

As a Childcare Solicitor and Panel Member, you will manage a varied caseload of complex childcare matters, providing expert legal advice and representation, including advocacy in court.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in childcare law and a commitment to exceptional client care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years PQE as a qualified Solicitor
  • Law Society Children Law Accreditation (essential)
  • Proven experience in public law childcare proceedings including instructions from Children’s Guardians
  • Strong advocacy experience in family court
  • Experience dealing with Legal Aid cases
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • A commercial approach to fee earning and billing
  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
