Client Services Director

Full Time, Bournemouth

Bright Blue Day is looking for an ambitious Client Services Director to lead our Client Services function and play a key role in shaping the future of the agency.

Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you’ll be responsible for the growth, retention, and commercial performance of our key client accounts, while leading and developing a team of eight client services professionals from Account Executives through to Account Directors.

This is not a hands‑on account delivery role. Your focus will be on building senior client relationships, developing people, driving commercial growth and creating the conditions for great work to happen.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you’ll contribute to agency‑wide decisions, helping shape our people, proposition, growth strategy and future direction.

Working across B2B clients in sectors including cybersecurity, financial services and insurance, you’ll ensure our largest accounts continue to grow, deliver against agreed objectives and see bbd as a trusted strategic partner.

We’re entering an exciting period of growth, transformation and AI adoption, and we’re looking for someone who wants to play a meaningful role in shaping what comes next.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a Client Services team of nine people, spanning Account Executives through to Account Directors.
  • Drive retention, growth and profitability across bbd’s key client accounts.
  • Own the strategic oversight of Client Development Plans (CDPs) across our top accounts, ensuring clear growth opportunities and alignment between client goals and agency objectives.
  • Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships that extend beyond project delivery.
  • Provide strategic guidance and commercial insight aligned to client objectives and bbd’s service offering.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for key client opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to agency strategy, growth initiatives and leadership team decision‑making.
  • Champion efficient ways of working, including the adoption of AI tools and technologies that enhance client service performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior Client Services leadership role within a B2B marketing agency.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams across multiple levels of seniority, including Account Executives, Account Managers, Senior Account Managers and Account Directors.
  • Experience managing and developing teams of at least 4+ direct reports, with responsibility for performance, progression and succession planning.
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams through growth, change and evolving ways of working.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining senior client relationships, including C‑suite and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of retaining and growing strategic client accounts.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including forecasting, profitability, account growth planning and revenue retention.
  • Experience working with clients in sectors such as cybersecurity, technology, financial services or insurance.
  • Experience contributing to agency leadership, business growth and strategic decision‑making.
  • Strong understanding of AI tools, platforms and emerging technologies that are transforming client services, agency operations and client engagement.

Personal Attributes

  • Ambitious and motivated by helping shape the future direction of an agency.
  • Excited by the opportunity to play a leadership role beyond the Client Services department.
  • A natural coach and mentor who enjoys developing people at all stages of their careers.
  • Commercially minded and comfortable balancing client, people and business priorities.
  • Strategic, proactive and growth‑focused.
  • Curious, adaptable and open to new technologies and ways of working.
  • Confident, influencing and building relationships at senior levels.
  • Accountable, collaborative and aligned with a people‑first culture.

Location & Travel

Based in Bournemouth and able to work from our office five days per week.

Willing and able to travel regularly within the UK and internationally, including America, when required.

AI-Integrated Middleweight Creative

Full Time, Bournemouth

We’re looking for someone who shares our excitement for what’s next.

Not someone who thinks AI replaces creativity.

Someone who knows it amplifies it.

About bbd

We’ve been creating award‑winning B2B work for over 60 years. Today, we’re building on that legacy by integrating AI into the way we think, create and deliver – not because it’s fashionable, but because we believe it helps us produce better work.

We partner with some of the world’s biggest brands across technology, cyber security, finance and insurance, creating campaigns, content and digital experiences that make complex businesses impossible to ignore.

The Role

We’re looking for a Midweight Creative who combines strong conceptual thinking with a genuine passion for AI‑enabled creativity.

You’ll work alongside strategists, writers, designers and motion creatives to develop ideas that solve real business problems. AI should already be part of how you explore, prototype and craft your work—but you’ll also know when great thinking, taste and human judgement matter most.

This is an opportunity to help shape not only the work we produce, but how creativity evolves inside the agency.

What you’ll do

  • Develop creative ideas across integrated campaigns, digital, social and content.
  • Use AI tools to explore concepts, accelerate ideation and enhance creative execution.
  • Work collaboratively with copywriters, designers, strategists and developers from brief through to delivery.
  • Create presentations, prototypes and campaign assets that inspire both clients and colleagues.
  • Stay curious about emerging AI tools and creative workflows, sharing useful discoveries with the wider team.
  • Contribute to pitches, innovation projects and new ways of working across the agency.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients through confidence, curiosity and great creative thinking.

About you

You’ll probably have three or more years’ experience in a creative agency and a portfolio that demonstrates strong ideas and excellent craft.

You’ll also have:

  • A genuine interest in how AI is changing creativity and the motivation to keep learning.
  • Practical experience using generative AI tools as part of your creative process.
  • Strong conceptual thinking: You start with ideas, not prompts.
  • Great visual taste and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and other creative software to refine and finish work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to challenge ideas – including your own.

We’d love it if you also have

  • Experience across B2B brands or complex products.
  • Motion, animation or video generation experience.
  • Prompting, workflow automation or experimentation with emerging creative tools.
  • A habit of testing new approaches and sharing what works with others.

We’re not looking to bolt AI onto the end of our creative process.

We’re redesigning how an agency works.

You’ll have access to leading AI tools, a team that genuinely wants to experiment, and clients who trust us to bring fresh thinking.

You’ll work alongside strategists, creatives, developers and motion specialists who care deeply about great ideas and great craft.

The creatives who thrive here are the curious ones. They know how to connect ideas, people, AI tools, technology and human insight into work that’s smarter, more original and more effective. They’re orchestrators as well as creators.

If you’re excited about creating work that couldn’t have existed a year ago – and helping shape what creative agencies look like over the next decade – we’d love to hear from you.

Please send us your CV, portfolio and a short note telling us why you’re interested in joining bbd.
