Support Worker – Learning Disabilities (Temporary) Location: South West Pay: £15.34 per hour Contract: 1 month (with potential to extend) Hours: 37 per week, Monday-Saturday (8:00am-6:00pm, flexible shifts)About the Role We’re recruiting for a compassionate and adaptable Support Worker – Learning Disabilities to join a busy service supporting individuals across the South West. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll support people with learning disabilities and complex needs to live independently, safely and confidently within their communities. No two days are the same-you’ll be working closely with individuals to build their confidence, develop life skills and achieve personal goals.What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with customers and partner agencies
  • Support individuals to develop independence and engage in their communities
  • Create and review support plans with clear, achievable goals
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure safe working practices
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service outcomes
  • Work both independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting individuals with a range of needs, ideally in a care or support setting
  • Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in varied situations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working hours to meet service needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity
  • A positive, proactive approach with the ability to adapt to change

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of housing-related support or community services
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals in group or one-to-one settings
  • British Sign Language (BSL) knowledge
  • Enhanced DBS check required
