An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client lawyer to join a leading Legal 200 firm with a strong reputation for advising high-net-worth individuals, landed estates, farming families and business owners.
n
This appointment forms part of the firm's continued growth within its Private Client and Rural Business teams and offers the opportunity to work on high-quality succession, estate planning and trust matters alongside recognised experts in the field.

The Role
n
You will take the lead role in the Private Wealth department across the Swindon and Marlborough area:
n
Your work will include:
n
- n
- Advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on estate and succession planning
- Supporting farming families and business owners with wealth preservation and generational succession strategies
- Managing the administration of complex estates, including those involving agricultural and business assets
- Establishing, administering and restructuring trusts
- Advising on inheritance tax mitigation and lifetime gifting arrangements
- Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Handling Court of Protection matters
- Liaising with HMRC, accountants and professional valuers on tax and estate-related issues
- Assisting with business development initiatives and maintaining key referrer relationships
- Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate

About You
n
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with:
n
- n
- Around 6 years' PQE or equivalent experience in Private Client law
- Strong technical knowledge of estate administration, tax planning and succession matters
- Experience advising high-net-worth clients
- Exposure to agricultural, landed estate or rural client work would be advantageous
- STEP qualification, or a willingness to work towards STEP accreditation, would be beneficial but is not essential
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
