GCP DevOps Engineer

£400/day Outside IR35 | 5 Months | Remote (occasional London travel) | BPSS Clearance Required

We are seeking a hands‑on GCP DevOps Engineer to support the build and operation of secure Google Cloud Platform environments, CI/CD tooling and Infrastructure as Code solutions. Working within a cloud delivery team, you will help establish GCP landing zones, automate platform provisioning, support GitHub administration and enable development teams to deploy applications securely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and support secure GCP environments across multiple stages of delivery.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Design and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Administer GitHub repositories, workflows and GitHub Actions.
• Implement cloud security controls, IAM and secrets management.
• Monitor platform health, performance and security.
• Support development teams adopting DevOps best practices.

Essential Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with GCP services including IAM, VPC Networking, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring and Secret Manager.
• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions and repository management.
• Understanding of cloud security and DevSecOps principles.

Desirable

• Experience implementing GCP landing zones.
• Public sector or regulated environment experience.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps or Cloud Build.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container platforms.

Contract: 5 Months

Location: Predominantly Remote (occasional London travel if required)

Rate: £400/day Outside IR35

Clearance: BPSS only (SC clearance not required)
