Overview
Brookdale nursing home is looking for a Chef/Cook to join our friendly and dedicated team who share our company values and commitment to our residents that call Brookdale ‘Home’. Contracted Hours: 36-44 hours, Alternate Weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide wholesome, nutritious meals for residents following a four-weekly rotating menu.
- Cater for special dietary requirements, such as modified texture meals following the IDDSI framework, religious preferences, fortification, diabetes, and other needs.
- Keep all temperature records up to date, along with cleaning rotas and all food safety requirements.
- Minimise waste and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Supervise kitchen assistants, order stock/manage kitchen, and ensure the kitchen area is always clean and tidy.
- Receive ongoing training and career development support.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar environment (healthcare experience is preferred but not essential).
- Hold a food hygiene certificate (Level 2 and above or equivalent).
- Understanding of Safer Food Better Business.
- Experience of varying dietary requirements.
- Empathy towards elderly residents and a desire to progress within this rewarding environment.
