Job Title: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants (2 roles)

Salary: £8,815 – £12,118 per annum

Hours: Morning shift – 19 hours 10 minutesAfternoon shift – 14 hours 10 minutes

Overview

The Governors are seeking caring, positive and experienced teaching assistants who are patient, good‑humoured and highly motivated. The role involves supporting a Reception child with an EHCP for speech and language and physical needs on a 1:1 basis. Two roles exist – one for the morning and one for the afternoon – to ensure the child receives comprehensive support across the day.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualised support to the Reception child with an EHCP for speech/language and physical needs.
  • Coordinate with the other 1:1 assistant to maintain a consistent approach across the morning and afternoon periods.
  • Assist in small group settings, fostering the child’s development alongside other pupils.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, support staff and families to progress the child’s plan.
  • Maintain a positive, trusting relationship with the child and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience as a teaching assistant, particularly with children who have a range of needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive, collaborative approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
