Terex Ecotec is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to contribute to the development of mobile recycling machinery, working with a lead engineer to deliver new products and maintain existing designs within defined timescales.

About the Role
Working with the relevant lead engineer, the Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of new and maintenance of existing mobile recycling machinery, within defined timescales.
What you’ll do
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
Follow Group standards in QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing.
Follow Group engineering standards and IT systems to ensure effective global management of released engineering data.
Ensure current and new products meet safety, function and reliability standards and performance levels.
Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and collaboration with production, purchasing and suppliers.
Investigate and address customer complaints in a timely manner.
Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.

What you’ll bring
Experience & Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering or equivalent, ideally with design experience in mobile tracked equipment.
Competent user of 3D CAD (ideally CREO) and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
Technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Experience of mobile recycling machinery is advantageous.
Understanding of various applications for equipment and expected performance.
Creativity and innovative thinking.
Experience with Oracle TMS is a plus.
Good English communication skills, both written and spoken; good presentation and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A can-do attitude with the ability to interact with a multi-functional team.
Ability to work with others to meet deadlines and assess workload with realistic timelines.
Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
Ability to identify risks (technical and commercial) with proposed product changes or new products.
