ABASK shares the skills and stories behind over 400 local and global artisans it has curated in one intuitively designed e-commerce environment that delivers the best in customer experience and service.

Taking the hard work out of choosing the most unexpected gift, personal collector’s item, or interior design scheme, ABASK promises to deliver its unique edit of rare, exclusive, and one-of-a-kind pieces to over 165 countries within one to four days.

ABASK obsesses over the highest quality materials and make, inspiring its customers to covet the preservation of traditional craftsmanship; delight in the function of design icons; and take joy in modern heirlooms while cherishing the stories that accompany them.

The role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Studio Production Manager to run the day-to-day operation of our new photography studio at our distribution centre in Rugby.

This is a critical role at the heart of how ABASK presents its products online. Our imagery is often the only way our customers experience our objects before purchasing, so every shoot needs to represent the product beautifully and accurately – from materiality, scale and colour to craft detail, finish and function.

The studio is based within our Rugby DC, operated by Iron Mountain at Symmetry Park. We are currently working from an interim branded studio space and will move into a larger permanent studio in September. The permanent space will be over 1,000 sq ft, operating across five bays with a mix of ecommerce and lifestyle photography.

This role will be the operational lead for the DC studio. You will own the planning, production schedule, workflow, tracking, resourcing and quality control from product arrival through to photography, retouching and upload readiness. You will work closely with the DC team, Trading, Head Office, the London Studio team, photographers, stylists, freelancers and retouchers to ensure the studio delivers at pace without compromising quality.

This is not a purely creative studio role. It is a production, workflow and operational role within a fast-moving ecommerce environment, requiring excellent organisation, calm communication and a strong eye for detail.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who can build and run a highly efficient studio operation while protecting the elevated visual standards of the ABASK brand.

You will be the person making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time, that shoots are properly planned, that freelancers are booked when needed, that products move smoothly between Goods-in, the warehouse and the studio, and that every asset is tracked through to retouching and upload.

You will act as the main bridge between the DC and Head Office, ensuring the studio is fully aligned with our upload strategy, newness priorities and agreed reshoot lists. You will also be responsible for building a strong, collaborative relationship with the DC teams so that the studio operates as a true partner to the wider operation.

Key responsibilities

Studio production and workflow

  • Own the day-to-day production schedule for the Rugby studio across ecommerce, lifestyle, newness and reshoots.
  • Plan shoots against the agreed upload strategy, trading priorities and product launch timelines.
  • Manage the full workflow from product arrival through to shoot planning, photography, retouching handover, QA and upload readiness.
  • Ensure clear tracking of all products and assets through the studio process.
  • Maintain visibility of what has been shot, what is outstanding, what is with retouching, and what is ready for upload.
  • Identify blockers early and escalate where needed to keep the process moving.

Product movement and DC integration

  • Work closely with Goods-in, Operations and warehouse teams to ensure products are available, prepared and moved at the right time.
  • Plan and coordinate the physical movement of products required for newness shoots, lifestyle shoots and reshoots.
  • Ensure products are handled carefully and returned or progressed correctly after shooting.
  • Build a supportive, collaborative working rhythm between the studio and DC teams.
  • Ensure the studio operates to agreed SLAs across receipt, shoot, retouching and upload readiness.

Upload strategy, newness and reshoots

  • Liaise with Head Office and Trading on the newness upload plan and weekly priorities.
  • Track progress against agreed newness targets and timelines.
  • Own and manage the reshoot list, including older products where imagery needs to be refreshed.
  • Ensure the studio has a clear plan to deliver against newness, reshoots and any priority product requests.
  • Provide regular updates to Head Office on progress, risks and capacity.

Team and freelance coordination

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activity of photographers, stylists, assistants and freelancers working in the DC studio.
  • Book freelance support where needed, based on volume, deadlines and specialist requirements.
  • Ensure everyone working in the studio has a clear brief, schedule and expected output.
  • Support the onboarding of new photographers and stylists into the DC studio workflow.
  • Maintain a calm, organised and solutions-led studio environment.

Quality control and standards

  • Act as guardian of the end-to-end studio process and the consistency of the output.
  • Ensure imagery is complete, accurate and aligned with ABASK standards before moving into the next stage.
  • Flag issues around missing angles, colour, lighting, product presentation, styling or incomplete coverage.
  • Work closely with the Photography Manager and London Studio team to ensure consistency of art direction and quality.
  • Help reduce avoidable reshoots, delays and incomplete asset handovers.

Studio environment and equipment

  • Own the organisation and day-to-day readiness of the DC studio.
  • Ensure equipment, lighting, desks, surfaces, props and materials are well maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Identify equipment or setup requirements for the interim and permanent studio spaces.
  • Ensure the studio is clean, safe, organised and ready to operate efficiently each day.
  • Support the transition from the interim studio space into the permanent studio in September.

Profile and experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in studio production, ecommerce content production, photography studio operations, creative operations or a similar production-focused role.

You will likely have worked in a fast-paced ecommerce, retail, interiors, luxury, fashion, homeware, design or product-led environment where high-quality imagery and operational delivery are both critical.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple moving parts at once.
  • Operationally strong, with experience managing schedules, workflows and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of what high-quality product imagery requires.
  • Comfortable working closely with warehouse, operations, trading and creative teams.
  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise clearly.
  • A confident communicator who can act as the bridge between DC and Head Office.
  • Proactive, practical and solutions-led.
  • Comfortable managing freelancers, studio teams and external retouching workflows.
  • Able to build simple, effective tracking processes and keep them up to date.
  • Interested in craftsmanship, design, interiors or luxury product presentation.

Experience with studio workflow tools, asset tracking, ecommerce upload processes, retouching handovers, Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite or DAM/PIM systems would be beneficial, but the most important requirement is strong production ownership and the ability to run a high-quality studio operation with discipline and care.

What success looks like

  • Products move smoothly from Goods-in to shoot, retouching and upload readiness.
  • The DC studio runs as a reliable, well-organised extension of the wider ABASK operation.
  • Newness and reshoots are delivered against agreed priorities and timelines.
  • The studio has clear processes, SLAs and tracking in place.
  • Photographers, stylists and freelancers are well briefed and properly coordinated.
  • Head Office has full visibility of progress, blockers and capacity.
  • The quality of imagery is protected while output scales.
  • The permanent Rugby studio is set up for long-term success.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build a key operational function within a fast-growing, design-led ecommerce business where imagery, product storytelling and executional excellence are central to the customer experience.
