EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (1:2 Support)

Location: Blackpool & Surrounding Areas

Start: ASAP

Contract: Ongoing Temporary, term time

Hours: Mon-Fri, 08:30-15:30 (32.5 hrs/week)

Are you a resilient, nurturing educator ready to help two children with additional needs thrive? We are seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:2 support in an inclusive Early Years setting. Our mission is to build the resilience, confidence, and communication skills every child needs to reach their full potential.

The Role & Duties

  • 1:2 Targeted Support: Guide two pupils through the EYFS curriculum, focusing on character development and academic confidence.
  • Learning Through Play: Scaffold activities in sand, water, and role-play areas to develop social and motor skills.
  • SEN Strategy: Use visual timetables and “Now & Next” boards to help children manage transitions and sensory needs.
  • Personal Care: Assist with hygiene, toileting, and mealtimes with dignity and care.
  • Observations: Track and record developmental milestones to support the Class Teacher and SENDCo.

What You’ll Need

  • EYFS Experience: Prior experience in a Nursery, Pre-school, or Reception setting is ideal.
  • SEN Knowledge: A background in supporting additional needs or a strong desire to learn.
  • Transferable Skills: Patience, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Commitment: A passion for fostering a safe, inclusive community where every child belongs.
