Credit Benchmark is a financial data analytics company that aggregates credit risk assessments from leading financial institutions to provide greater visibility into the credit quality of individual entities. We are rapidly expanding and seek a permanent, full‑time Data Operations Analyst to join our London team. The position is based in our London office with hybrid working options.
The role
Reporting to the Head of Client Operations, the ideal candidate is a recent graduate or has 1–3 years of experience in the financial industry with an interest in credit risk and broader financial markets. The role requires innovative thinking, problem‑solving, technical expertise, and strong relationship‑building skills.
Role responsibilities
- Be part of a busy, diverse team and help maintain and develop our credit risk data service.
- Oversee core data operations: work with data contributors to ensure quality and accuracy of data input and output, manage processing of complex datasets, resolve issues, and deliver value‑added analysis and customer support.
- Implement and optimise data‑driven solutions and process enhancements that drive efficiency and innovation.
- Use technical expertise and analytical skills to solve complex data challenges and enable data‑focused decision making within the team.
- Own and develop data processing operations and data solutions: identify, prioritise and resolve data quality issues.
- Ensure timely delivery of Credit Benchmark services, meeting service‑level targets.
- Partner with data contributors to build and manage professional client relationships, ensuring smooth data aggregation and effective handling of queries and issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales, Analytics and Product on client queries, ad‑hoc projects and other internal initiatives.
- Develop and implement continuous improvements to operational processes, increasing accuracy and efficiency of data processing.
What we are looking for
- Interest and knowledge in financial markets, the economy, and especially credit risk.
- A University or College degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field with a substantial numerical/quantitative component.
- Prior experience in a data processing role within an organisation or professional environment.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent administrative and project‑management skills to manage workload priorities and deliver on deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a professional manner.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently and collaborating with team members.
- Proactive, diligent, and driven with initiative.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excel proficiency and familiarity with R, Python and SQL for data analysis.
