Salary up to £30,000 per annum. Position: Logistics Coordinator – Manchester – Full Time.
Our client is a well‑established industrial packaging manufacturer, specialising in bespoke packaging solutions for customers across a wide range of industries.
On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Coordinator to manage the day‑to‑day transport operation, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently, vehicles remain compliant, and customer expectations are consistently met. This is a varied and hands‑on role requiring excellent organisational skills, transport planning experience, and a strong understanding of fleet administration and transport compliance.

- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm (early finish on Fridays when workload allows)

Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transport routes and coordinate collections.
- Liaise with production, customers, drivers and third‑party hauliers to ensure deliveries run efficiently.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, servicing, MOTs and inspections to maintain fleet compliance.
- Manage driver records, drivers’ hours, tachograph infringements and transport administration.
- Ensure transport operations comply with current transport legislation and company procedures.
- Prepare and maintain transport documentation and accurate operational records.
- Organise product transfers between company sites.
- Monitor customer KPIs and produce regular operational reports.
- Resolve transport and logistics issues quickly to minimise disruption.
- Support the accounts department with month‑end administration when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience within logistics, transport planning or transport administration.
- Good understanding of transport compliance, drivers’ hours regulations and tachograph infringements.
- Experience coordinating fleet maintenance and vehicle administration.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across production, customers, drivers and third‑party hauliers.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills (Sage experience desirable).
- Ability to work independently in a busy, fast‑paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
