About the Role
Are you passionate about maintaining a safe, clean and well functioning environment? Join our team as a Building Services Officer (BSO) and play a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our College facilities.
We are currently recruiting for two Building Services Officers, offering the opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team.
As a BSO, you will work alongside colleagues to undertake maintenance, repair, security, and groundskeeping tasks, contributing to the overall well being of our campuses and their users. This role offers a varied and hands on work environment, including janitorial duties, statutory compliance, security, and performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key holder and manage building access
- Perform routine inspections and security checks
- Operate and monitor fire and intruder alarm systems
- Conduct compliance testing (e.g. emergency lighting, fire extinguishers)
- Support reception areas and manage deliveries
- Carry out basic maintenance and janitorial tasks
- Assist with audits and inter site deliveries
- Work alongside contractors on major projects
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- SIA training/qualification/licence
- Health & Safety awareness
- NVQ Level 2 in a maintenance related trade
- Experience in facilities management, ideally in an educational setting
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and incident management
