Academics is delighted to be recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant for a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Stroud. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEN and contributing to a positive learning environment where every child feels valued.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support day-to-day classroom activities, helping pupils remain engaged, confident, and motivated in their learning. A key aspect of the position will involve providing targeted support for children with Special Educational Needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Key Details:

- £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)
- Full-time: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Long-term temporary position with potential for permanency
- Clear DBS required (or willingness to apply)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons as a Classroom Assistant
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Work with pupils individually and in small groups to boost confidence and progress
- Help create a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom organisation and maintain a safe, well-managed learning space
