At Aston Martin, every drive should feel exceptional. Behind that experience sits a team of engineers responsible for ensuring our vehicles perform flawlessly in every condition, from the heat of a high-performance track day to the demands of everyday driving.
We’re looking for a Project Engineer – Thermal Management System to join our Engineering team and play a key role in the design, development and delivery of thermal management solutions across our vehicle programmes. This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical systems that influence vehicle performance, efficiency, reliability and customer experience from concept through to production.
Responsibilities
Working within the Thermal Management team, you will be responsible for the specification, design, validation and delivery of components and systems that meet programme targets for quality, cost and timing. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across design, development, procurement, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams to ensure successful delivery throughout the product lifecycle. This is a highly visible role where you’ll lead technical activities, drive problem-solving, and influence engineering decisions across multiple vehicle programmes. You’ll be responsible for generating and managing component specifications, delivering hardware that achieves system performance targets, supporting DFMEA and validation activities, maintaining commodity plans, managing system BOMs and ensuring accurate engineering release documentation. You’ll work closely with CAD teams to develop robust 3‑D models and 2‑D drawings, support supplier sourcing activities, lead design reviews, coordinate validation testing, and help resolve engineering concerns through effective containment and permanent corrective actions.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone with experience in the design and development of thermal management systems, alongside a strong understanding of simulation techniques, validation methods and automotive product development processes. You’ll have experience working across cross‑functional engineering teams, managing supplier relationships, supporting production launches and driving concern resolution through structured engineering processes. You should be comfortable analysing technical data, reviewing supplier submissions, managing engineering change activities and balancing multiple priorities within a fast‑paced development environment. Experience with Teamcenter or a similar PLM system is essential, along with a strong understanding of DFMEAs, BOM management, validation testing and design release processes. The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline and will bring a proactive, hands‑on approach to problem solving. You’ll be naturally inquisitive, confident challenging the status quo when needed, and able to communicate complex technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders. Strong teamwork, accountability and a genuine passion for delivering world‑class engineering solutions will be key to success in this role.
Diversity and Inclusion
At Aston Martin, we believe that the stunning beauty, craftsmanship, and artistry that define our brand come from the diverse voices and talents of our extraordinary team. We are committed to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Your unique perspectives, shaped by your education, culture, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, abilities, and more, are what make us stronger and more innovative. We celebrate the richness of diversity and actively seek individuals who bring something new to the table.
If you require any accommodations or support during the application process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to ensure that you can bring your best, in every way. Let’s build something remarkable together.
The post holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd.
