Salary: £70,000 – 70,000 per year

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift is essential.
  • Experience troubleshooting key operators including ServiceMesh, ODF, ACS, ACM, and AMQ.
  • Ability to work in complex multi-cloud or hybrid environments with a solid foundation in distributed systems.
  • Expertise in observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Tempo.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Kustomize and Helm, with scripting skills in Bash and Python.
  • Experience managing GitOps pipelines using Tekton, ArgoCD, or FluxCD.
  • Strong growth mindset with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Active SC clearance required.
  • Desirable: CKA or CKS Kubernetes certification.
  • Desirable: Experience working in secure or classified environments.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Red Hat ACM/ACS and networking tools such as Submariner.
  • Desirable: Hands-on experience with EDB Postgres for enterprise-grade databases.

Responsibilities

  • We will embed the Site Reliability Engineer within our Cloud Pod to help deliver and maintain services.
  • We will work hands-on in a modern cloud-native environment using Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitOps, service mesh, and observability tooling.
  • We will support a major UK critical infrastructure programme delivering large-scale cloud-native transformation at enterprise scale.
  • We will operate within a team culture built around support, shared ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • We will participate in a regular on‑call rota supporting Critical National Infrastructure.
  • We will provide opportunities to develop through training, certifications, and collaboration with experienced engineers.
