Supplying highly engineered systems and components into the construction equipment, commercial vehicle, agricultural machinery and industrial sectors, they have built a reputation for technical excellence, innovation and product reliability. With continued investment in new technologies and product development, they are now looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
Can you take a product from concept through to manufacture?
This isn’t a role for someone who simply updates drawings.
We’re looking for a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, challenging conventional thinking and developing robust, manufacturable products from a blank sheet of paper through to production.
You’ll be joining a highly capable engineering team, working on a range of innovative products including pumps, engine ancillaries and electromechanical systems, where your designs will have a direct impact on product performance, manufacturability and commercial success.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design Engineering
- Proven experience delivering products from concept through to manufacture
- Expert-level understanding of GD&T
- Extensive experience designing components for injection moulding and casting processes
- Strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) knowledge
- Experience creating detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings (Creo preferred)
- Experience designing both metal and plastic components
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work from first principles
- Comfortable collaborating with manufacturing, suppliers and cross‑functional engineering teams
- Bearings, seals, gears, shafts or fluid‑handling products
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading mechanical design projects from concept through production.
- Developing innovative design solutions using sound engineering principles.
- Creating CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
- Applying GD&T best practice throughout the design process.
- Designing components suitable for injection moulding, casting and volume manufacture.
- Working closely with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for production.
- Supporting testing, validation and continuous product improvement activities.
- Producing technical documentation, reports and engineering calculations.
