Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Planner to join a leading engineering and construction team delivering major infrastructure projects across the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a long‑term capital investment programme, supporting projects across both clean and wastewater treatment facilities, below‑ground assets, reservoirs, and nature‑based solutions.
Working within a collaborative project environment, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent planning software.
- Monitoring project progress against baseline programmes and providing regular updates.
- Identifying programme risks, delays and opportunities, recommending effective mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams and supply chain partners to ensure programmes accurately reflect site activities.
- Producing progress reports, programme updates, dashboards and forecasts for project stakeholders.
- Supporting project controls, reporting and programme governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring contractual milestones and programme obligations are achieved.
- Assisting with tender planning and bid submissions by developing robust and realistic delivery programmes.
- Maintaining accurate records of programme revisions, changes and supporting information.
About You
- Previous experience in a planning role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and an interest in digital planning techniques, including 4D planning.
- Experience working with NEC, JCT or similar forms of contract.
- A sound understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution (APM, CIOB or ICE) would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project locations as required.
